Did you notice I disappeared for a while? Maybe not. I have a small readership^^ But I did. I stopped writing on my blog for a while, but I didn’t stop writing. The problem was, I couldn’t share what I was writing with you because it was my big delightful secret. But the time has come to announce the existence of Dragon. Little Dragon Lee is due to arrive February 4, 2012, aka a very deliberately planned Year of the Dragon baby. (In case you’re wondering, yes, the baby’s real name will be dragon-related whether it is a boy or a girl 🙂 🙂 🙂 However, I will use only ‘Dragon’ to discuss the baby on this blog).

I’m not sure how this new and exciting addition will change the blog. I don’t want to make this into a mommy blog, not because I don’t like mommy blogs (I read them with increasing frequency now!), but I don’t think that’s what this blog is supposed to be. However, I do know that this blog will take an obvious turn a bit more in the direction of the politics, trials, and joys of having a biracial child in Korea and about the prenatal/process of birthing here for expat women.

In the 2 months I was mostly absent, I started a little private series which I call ‘Dear Dragon’ or a collection of letters to my baby in utero to document my thoughts and feelings about this pregnancy for my child. At one point, I thought about starting another blog in order to post my letters, but I feel like some of them are better kept between baby and me. However, from time to time I will be posting letters I think are appropriate for this blog. So stay tuned to those and other thoughts about this subject in the weeks and months to come.
